Project Overview

JOBTOPGUN is a job platform that focus on developing success in every business in Thailand. 
By driving the most important aspect of business ie., ‘People’ 
Or in other words, the platform will provide more number of right people. 
So that every business can fill vacancies or “find the right people”
and the Job seeker find their right career path. 

Problems

  • The platform was not up to the trend

  • Discontinuity of interface, causing users to confuse and not understand 
  • Too many messages, data look unreadable
  • The platform was not trustworthy for the first time user or who did not know the platform
  • The Search engine and algorithm was updated. Thus, the search interface and journey need 

    to be redesign as well.

Goals

Business Goal / Requirement

  • To become the No.1 Choice for Jobseeker in finding their right career path
  • To provide a holistic career finding experience from the beginning till the hiring process
  • Develop features that would help in getting hired
  • Gain more traffic, downloads, and more numbers of registers to increase Database of Resumes
  • Make sure that the the client(companies) get the right candidate for the job

User Goals

  • Get the right job of their dream
  • Have enough number of Jobs to choose from
  • Enough company information in order to make decision
  • Feature that would facilitate the user in every process of job application 
    eg. Application tracking, notifications, email, chat and reviews 

Challenge

  • How to Redesign and bring the old platform that was created back in 1999 back to life.
  • How to re-communicate and design the platform without changing too much information of old          backed system and api
  • Develop features that would facilitate user experience to achieve to company goals

Strength

Problems

Who are the users

• JOBTOPGUN was founded in 1999 with 4.5 million database of jobseeker
• The only platform that has its own Resume license and Resume analysis

• The user journey is not smooth, there are breaking in between
• Menu bar is inconsistent throughout the website
• Too many search options and filter in the home page
• The platform was not trustworthy for the first time user
• The platform has fewer jobs to display than the competitor
• The information need to be revised 
• The typography is too big
• Too much text

• Fresh graduate, diplomat
• The one who are seeking for a new opportunity
• 18-48 years of age

Strength

• Find and reach other people easily
• Company search with complete details and easy 
to connect
• The profile section shows Profile, Skill, experience and

  necessary information in its entirety, 
• The placement of features makes it similar to social 
platforms

• Well organized and grouped menus make it easy for users to

  find what and not get lost when using the website

Strength

• website page is clean easy to read, not a lot of information
• Outstanding search features with easy to use filter
• The banner is changed according to the festival & events

• Job list are well displayed and organized

• Focus on building connections and community

• If you do not sign up, you will not be able to access the

  website or view general information make it easier for

  people to drop off

Weakness

• Not a lot filter to play with, may cause the user to find the 

  right job with difficulty
• There are no alternative section that users can use to

  browse for jobs
• Each website page is inconsistent.

• Company details contain too long and too many contents

• Interface design looks old

• Focus on jobs not much of other features
• Require more effort in searching for jobs not much filter
• No other features that help in making decision
• Website has a lot of banner

• What features / search filter you used the most to get the job you are looking for? 
   ex…Job field, job industries, search bar, keywords, location, salary…?

• What information and the criteria you are concern for making decision to apply to the job

• After you apply to the job what do you expect

•.What additional features that you think might be useful for job seeking and application process

Summarize

After conducted an interview with the Jobseeker.. these are the key takeaway

• We founded that those who are unemployed and available will visit the site almost everyday
• Employed person who are open and are seeking for an new opportunity will visit the site 1-3 times a week
• High profile persona tends to seek for a new opportunity from their connection.
• Search features is the most used feature in job browsing, second is the job field, and the most used filters
  are location and salary
• For the type of specialists like programer, they usually search by the name of skills, program or 
  language they can write
